Return of the 3 Little Indian Princesses!

WE'RE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Bloggers,

Upon returning to Australia I wanted to settle into life as full-time father of 3 beautiful  little princesses, I took some time off blogging but we are back and ready to blog. I will fill you in very shortly with pictures and updates of the last 5 months all the fun and games we have had but first things first, having 3 beautiful daughters and people that say "I don't know how you do it?" It is simple all of our surrogacy children are the most wanted loved children, that raising them is the easy part compared to the bumpy tough road we all as IP's have had to ride. Our Princesses have slept through the night since 8 weeks old with a dream feed at 10pm (prior to this was just a once a night get up at 2am) and at 4 months and currently sleep from 7pm to 7am.  A STRICT ROUTINE is how life has been so easy. The only help I get is my mum once a week coming over for 4 hours so I go to appointments, my partner is still yet to change a nappy, give the girls a bath but he sure does dote on our 3 little Princesses the minute he walks in then door. Life has been so amazing, We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a safe Happy New Year.

Week 2

Well, week 2 here in Delhi consisted of many things.

2 days ago Indiana was hospitalized.

All of sudden she just went into attacks of screaming.

She is such a happy little baby, very full of personality, very viabrant and so this was not right.

We took her to the closest hospital to the hotel, which is Max Hospital.

She was rushed into the NICU and was swamped by doctors and nurses.

The care at the hospital is just amazing.

She has had plenty of tests done and is on a course of antibiotics via IV.

She is reacting well, but she needs to remain in the NICU for at least 7 days.

We visit her each day.  When we do, she appears wiped out. It takes a lot out of her to try to keep her eyes open to see us when we visit her.

She is goung well.

She s putting on weight, which is great.

She is finally getting the hang of feeding - yes, Scarlet, if you actually stay awake you can get more milk!

She has adapted well to her routine and in the last couple of days really started opening her eyes and loving taking in the world around her.

She is the one that loves sleep. D

"Daddy, I want my bottle" then put me back to bed NOW!!

She also loves the routine and is very happy waking only to feed.

She feeds very well and is taking 90mls per feed, which is just great.

She loves making noises with her mouth and has a very funny little personality.

Sharing a womb

Annabella and Scarlet are just so funny when it comes to changing a nappy, having a bath or sleeping.

They both stick their legs out and stretch like a little starfish they stay starfish styled for ages as if they can't believe that they don' t have to share anymore room and they love the fact they can have as much space and free movement as they require.

Exit Progress

All DNA matching has been done and passport applications are being lodged tomorrow.

Then all that is left is to go to FRRO to gain exit visas, then hoping to depart midnight on Thursday evening.

This will all depend on Indiana, of course, and hoping that she will be released on Wednesday.

That's about all from India ATM.

1 Week Bithday!

Yesterday was our 3 little princess's 1 week old birthday!

We brought Indiana home last Saturday! She was a little unsettled the first night, as she had new surroundings and new people to smell. By day number 2 she was in the full swing of our routine. I had been referred this routine by many people, most that have multiples.  The book from which the routine comes is called "Save my Sleep" by Tizzy Hall. This is the that bible every parent should have. Indiana loves cuddles and kisses and is a very settled happy baby. I am very strict with her routine, as you have to be when you have 3 babies and I am hoping it will be just as easy to place Scarlet and Annabella on it too. Indiana has been to have her DNA tested yesterday. She has had her passport photos taken (not that she was interested in having her eyes open at all). The process to make Indiana an Australian Citizen is under way.

Annabella and Scarlet

Today our 2 little princess's in hospital, Scarlet and Annabella, have finally been taken off feeding tubes after 7 days and are on bottle feeds. They are both going strong and looking very healthy. We are so grateful to the wonderful care being given to our little princess's by Dr G and his amazing nurses at Eden Hospital! I cannot wait to have all 3 of our beautiful girls at home and also to start their citzenship process also.

 Power Outages

The power outages have been very interesting and are really affecting many things and many people here in India.  It is the biggest power outage in the history of the world (according to the Times of India, which is believable, because India holds some many records for the biggest in the world because of its vastness and massive population). The metro train has been affected and so the roads have been very full and there is more chaos then normal. Most larger places such as hotels, hospitals and big businesses have generators, so the power only goes out for about a minute or so. It is so good to see there is always a backup plan in place.

Our Hotel

We are staying at the Svelte Apartments in Saket. We have a 2 bedroom apartment with a big living room, mid-size kitchen and a dining room that we have converted into a baby bath and changing station. So many other couples from many different countries are here too for the birth of their children. It is a real insight and socialable to be surrouded by many of us in the same situation sharing our stories and enjoying good company.

We met another woman that had twins. They have been "roomies" with Scarlet and Annabella for the last few days. She is a local and she and her family requested that we attend there house for tea last night. They live in this amazing big masion. Their family has 12 businesses globally, a private jet, many maids, cooks, nannies, drivers and gardeners just to name a few. They put on a beautfiul traditional Indian tea - it was wonderful, many dishes with many different amazing stories behind each dish. They we such amazing people, so warm and welcoming. We even each left with a wonderful gift. It is amazing how India is so diverse, different religons, different social classes, different states, unique foods depending on what city you are in. The one thing that is consistent is the genouristy of India's people. We are so greatful to India for the wonderful gift of life this country and its amazing people has given us. We are so blessed and will always have a very strong connection with this amazing birth place of our 3 little princess's, " India ".

Day 1 In Delhi

Daddy and Grandma, arrived into Delhi this morning an hour late, it feel so emotional to be coming back here. Delhi is still very much the same. Grandma is very fascinated by all the quekky little things India has to offer. Dad and Aunty haven't been so lucky, they are currently stuck on the Tarmac in Tawain after 2 aborted landings due to the typhoon level 10 that has or is hitting Hong Kong. Hoping they don't miss their connection but with a long lay over shouldn't be much of an issue but their sight seeing part of there journey won't be happening. So good to be back in Delhi!

Hi From Singapore

Just a quick update.....

Twins- 34 weeks today, our beautiful surrogate has been admitted to hospital, having contractions and on meds again to delay labour, apparently we are looking at next week delivery everyday counts! Surrogate will be remaining in hospital until birth.

Singleton- 37 weeks 2 days, Still very smooth sailing for our beautiful surrogate, hoping we can take the singleton as far as we can to have all children born on the same day.

Daddy and Grandma

Currently on route to Delhi, Delayed in Singapore for about 2 hours just can't wait to get there and tuck ourselves in for a nice sleep, daddy being a flight attendant himself doesn't travel well as passenger all the small things such as having to line up no priority really gets to him! grandma is very excited and just can't wait to finally meet you all! ( she may also be driving daddy CRAZY just slightly )

Dad and Aunty

Currently on a flight to Hong Kong due to land there in 5 hours time, followed by a stop over then arriving in Delhi in the evening! Aunty is also very excited and very emotional about meeting you!

Can't believe we are finally going to meet after such an emotional journey that feels like for ever! we are all ready and waiting for you! Can't wait to hold you in our arms our beautiful little angels!

Packing for India.....

Today like most days lately has been very busy, I have been packing all night. We have still no call from India which is great, surrogate carrying the twins is finally out of hospital, she is now 33 weeks and 1 day, Our singleton is going along very smoothly at 36 weeks and 3 days. Packing has been a night mare not going to try to hide it nor try to tell you how easy it was YES after nearly 7 years of flying and living out of a suitcase I still 1) over pack, 2) still can't pack quickly, 3) must always lay everything out and talk to myself, 4) fold everything perfectly neat as I am pretty anal about everything in my life. A phone call to my mum stopped me from having a complete meltdown.

The Plan

If our twins don't turn up early my mum and I will fly out monday, as this sunday the singleton is 37 weeks. My partner and my sister will be flying out via Hong Kong also on monday night which will be very fun as they are planning to go out and sight see in Hong Kong the joys of a nice long stop over! My mum and I will be flying via Singapore at this stage to get there first and set everything up and get my organisational hat out to play, looking forward to being back in Delhi.

The Mini Holiday

If the children don't come in the next week or so for us it is not such an issue, we are glad to have a little mini holiday as this has been a very one emotional journey for us. Our last holiday was 2 years ago so be nice to see some more and bond with the magical country thats is giving us the most beautiful gift anyone could ever give to another human.

Something Funny

It is going to be very interesting to see my mum and I in India together for god knows how long, I love her so much but we are the exactly the same person, Both bossy, Both demanding, Both know everything, Our way is always the right way, Both hating being wrong ( which we never are!) Watch out India there is going to be some great entertainment coming your way very shortly.

Something to think about

We all get so caught up in our journey, the stresses, the highs and the lows but it's so easy to forget that this journey is not only affecting our lives it also touches so many other peoples lives, family, close, friends, people in other countries like our beautiful surrogate, her family and children. It feels so amazing being apart of this journey and sharing this experience with so many others. My mum and my sister are just beside themselves they have been with us through the whole process I don't know what we would done with out them both, its just so great to have so much support as on this journey you can never have enough!

I'm leaving you with some of my more stressful moments of packing!!!

Our Nursery!

It has been a very busy week and a bit since my last blog. I have been trying to keep busy as since going on leave from work, I don't want to be sitting at home just waiting and thinking. I have practically cleaned all of my girlfriends houses ( as they all work full time, just finished renos or pregnant themselves)  I have been desperately awaiting our custom made cots sets, so we can finally finish our nursery and today they came! I have attached a few pictures a promised I hope you fall in love with my interior design skills.... Now the nursery is done the babies are allowed to come!
Our beautiful surrogate carrying the twins is still currently in hospital tomorrow she will be 33 weeks. Our other beautiful surrogate is currently 36 weeks and 2 days with our singleton, it feels so nice knowing that all babies are in the safe zone now and the beautiful angels carrying our children are safe and being very well looked after, just can't wait to be holding them safely in my arms, I have read a lot of blogs lately the reason I started to write my blog is because it gave us a wonderful hope in a few very dark times in our journey, the people and support we have had thorough our blog has been amazing thank you all and I would also like to say how inspiring you all are our especially Bernadette, your courage and truly amazing personality has given hope and inspiration to all of us, you hang in there beautiful!

Friday, 6 July 2012

Life is a little crazy at the moment. I am in my last week a work - wow - it's so hard to believe that after nearly 7 years of flying I won't have to get up at all different horrible times. I will be at home everday, get to spend quality time with my beautfiul parnter, get to enjoy Christmas off for the first time EVER and of course get to have the most important role in my life a DADDY! I have accessed 2 years parental leave and, depending on the flexiablity of the airline, will go back to work 2 days a week when our beautiful babies turn 2. I have so many people at work dying to see the first pictures, hear the updates, it's been so amazing to have so much support from my friends, family and beautiful work colleagues. My Mum is so excited, you can't keep her from calling me 3 times a day! She will be the most wonderful Grandmother and my full time help, we are so lucky to have her in our lives, the children will be very spoilt. A few days ago we surprised my sister (soon to be aunty) with a ticket to Delhi. She was over the moon, tears of joy! It was important for us to have her there with us, as we embark on the most amazing journey of our lives. She, like my Mum, is just so excited and to have them all there is going to be more then we could ever ask for. Now the update ........ our beautiful Surrogate carrying our twins is still in hospital, the poor thing has been in hospital for 3 weeks. It been really such a rough hard time for us, just hoping the twins can get to 32 weeks, just hanging out for the daily email to come from the clinic. It has been hard to sleep, dying to wait and see what is going to happen next. She still is getting medication to stop her mild contraction, as well as a range of other medications to keep her healthy and stable for the pregnancy. It really makes us think about how special these beautiful women are, to have to go through this journey and give you the most important special gift you could ever give another human being. The twins are 31 weeks and 3 days, so Tuesday will be a great day if our little twins are still hanging in there! Our other beautiful Surrogate, carrying our singleton, is having a very smooth pregnancy. She is 34 weeks and 6 days. Our singleton is a very healthy weight and it all seems to be going along just perfectly. The plan ....... Mum and myself will fly to New Delhi as soon as we hear the twins are coming or are born (which could be any day) and my parnter and my sister are booked to arrive in New Delhi on the 24th of July, 2 days after our singleton is 37 weeks! Bags are all packed just here, waiting now! Nursery ... just waiting for the custom made cot sets and a rug and we are all complete - will post pictures when it arrives!

Our Beautiful Babies

Here are some 4D images of our 3 beautiful babies, can't wait to have you in our arms.

                                           Twin 1                                                                            Twin 2

The House!

We have moved to a beautiful family home in Claremont it's a japanese inspired house 200 metres to the river and 5 mins to the beach front, here are some pictures of our new house!

The News

Wow again time has just passed us by so quickly so much has been happening moved house, buying furniture, setting up the nursery, I am still flying full time and we have had a very emotional last few weeks. The hardest part of this journey for us is feeling so far away! Surrogate mother no 1# carrying our singleton (33 weeks) is going very well it seems to be very smooth sailing in her pregnancy it has been been the monthly scan updates saying it is all A Okay with is wonderful. Our surrogate no 2# carrying our twins has had quiet a rough ride the poor thing. Was hospitalised a month ago with just a routine UTI then released 6 days later then was hospitalised again 8 days ago with abdominal pain then a day later turned into mild contractions our twins are only currently 29 weeks and 5 days, they have given her medications to delay the contractions. She is still admitted to hospital receiving mild contractions. Our prayers are they our little twins can stay in put for just a few more weeks and make it 32 weeks. Being the planned and organised freak that I am all visas are done, bag for the babies are packed and ready to go full of at least 90 jump suits ( I know I can't help myself, I need help!), All items for children have been bought just awaiting the custom made black and white cots sets to arrive will post pictures when its all done, travel agent on standby, mother who will be flying out with me on standby, hotel organised, work understood I may leave to leave at a moments notice. Fingers crossed we can get to that 32 week mark!

The Update.......

So yet again work has got the better of me....                                             Been traveling away quite a lot and wow, the time until our babies arrive is just getting closer and closer. I have done quite a lot of shopping for India, as we still haven't found a house, still haven't brought the bigger family car, still no nurseries ARRGGHH!!!! So our update is Surrogate Mother # 1 is still carrying a very healthy singleton currently 21 weeks and 4 days and Surrogate Mother # 2 is still carrying 2 healthy little twins currently 18 weeks and 4 days. It just feels so amazing after all the emotions and the roller coaster ride of a journey, we are finally going to get our very instant family! Work has been amazing and given me 2 weeks annual leave prior to the scheduled cesarian  of our Surrogate Mother # 1, which will be the 22nd of Jul. The twins are scheduled to arrive on the 14th of August, but as we all know twins will come early, most likely all be arriving the same week! So with just over 13 weeks of work left before we start our new amazing parenthood journey and I can't wait BRING IT ON !!! I have done just a "small" amount of shopping. Clearly need to stop buying, but I can't can't help myself!!! Under Indian law they are not allowed to disclose the sex of the children but I have decided we are have having at least 1 boy and 1 girl (clearly a control freak). We look forward to our next lot of scans due with in the next few days for the singleton and the next few weeks for the twins.

1 over and 2 under

Well quite a lot has happened in the last time since I have blogged. Our surrogate mother #1 is 13 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Still carrying a very healthy singleton. Our surrogate mother #2 is still carrying the twins. Both seem to having strong little heartbeats. They are 10 weeks and 6 days. It feels like a huge achievement to make it this far. It also feels like, as a couple, the emotional roller coast of emotions you go through brings your relationship and bond so much stronger and closer. With 1 over 12 weeks and 2 just under, we hope to have the great news soon that all of them are in the green zone. Then finally we can tell everyone. Being a flight attendant for years, we love to share our life stories with everyone and anyone and to have to go through this process without telling any of them - you have no idea how hard it has been. Because the nature of our work is 24/7, departures around the clock, no public holidays, no weekends. The other cabin crew become your close friends and really like your family. You spend more time in the air and away with them than with your own family. So we are very much looking forward to telling them all. I just arrived back from Cocos Islands the other day. We spend 4 days up there in paradise, swimming, tanning and one too many glasses of wines and relaxing with crew. I have put up  some pictures I thought you might like to see.

Next Scan

We received our next scan of our beautiful surrogate mother #2. She is stil currently carrying healthy twins with strong heat beats. Because of what happened with our beautiful surrogate mother #1, we know to just wait until 12 weeks ........ and that feels so very far away ........ Thank you all so much for your support, thoughts and kind words. I feel so blessed to have people that understand what you are going through without having to explain in great detail. I hope that for everyone 2012 will be an amazing year full of happiness, joy and good health.

Another bump in our road

Well we received our next scan tonight from our clinic of our surrogate mother#1. Unfortuantely she has miscarried one of the twins she was carrying in our last scan. At 11 weeks, we still have a singleton with a very healthy heart beat. All tests for any nuerological abnormailties have come back negitive, which is somewhat good news out of this devastating bump in our road to becoming parents. The hardest thing is that last Friday a very close friend and workmate of mine passed way suddenly and unexpectedly. She was only 42 years old. We flew together for years. She was like an Aunty to me. The devastation it has cause to our close circle of friends, the family and all the other pilots and cabin crew has just been horrible. Heaven has definitely gained one of the most amazing angels it could have ever hoped for. So I would have to say, it's not the most amazing start to 2012 but we are staying positive ....... This process is full of emotions, ups and downs, highs and lows - you just have to take one day at a time and remember it will all be worth it when you have them in your arms.

The New Year

Firstly, I would like to apologise for my lazy blogging. So much has happened since my last blog. As you could imagine, being in the aviation industry, over the Christmas and New Year period the airline does not stop and it is one of the busiest times of our year.

6th December 2011

Our Surrogate Mother #1 had a scan revealing 2 pregnancy sacs. We were both very excited. Looking forward to next scan.

13th December 2011

Our Surrogate Mother #1 had a heartbeat test. It revealed healthy heartbeats.

15th December 2011

Our third cycle embryos (from the genetic material that was not successful from the second cycle) were cultured to day 6 and were transferred.

4 embryos were transferred.

The BHCG results are due on 23 December 2011.  So fingers crossed.

20th December 2011

Our Surrogate Mother #1 was admitted to hospital with bleeding.

The next 7 days were full of emotions and daily updates from the clinic advising us of her status.

23rd December 2011

After a long anticipated day of checking emails, we were finally informed our Surrogate Mother #2 was pregnant with a BHCG of 360.15. Talk about the best Christmas present.

27th December 2011

Our Surrogate Mother #1 was discharged from hospital. We were informed everything was going OK with her pregnancy.

28th December 2011

Our Surrogate Mother #1's scan still showed positive heartbeats. This obviously put out minds at ease after the last 8 days.

9th January 2012

Our Surrogate Mother #2's heartbeat test showed 2 healthy heartbeats.

Our Surrogate Mother #1's scan showed she was still carrying twins with healthy heartbeats.

We are both very excited. Bring on the 12 weeks green zone!!!
